Description

Frusiton is a combined diuretic preparation. Spironolactone is a long-acting aldosterone antagonist and a potassium-sparing diuretic. It binds with aldosterone receptors and increases water, sodium and chlorine excretion; it also reduces potassium excretion. Frusemide is a potent loop diuretic. It blocks active reabsorption of electrolytes and water in the ascending limb of Henle’s loop. It is indicated for the treatment of swelling due to excess fluid retention (Edema), chronic congestive cardiac failure, hepatic cirrhosis with a collection of fluid in the abdominal cavity (ascites), essential hypertension, hyperaldosteronism, resistant edema associated with secondary hyperaldosteronism.

Therapeutic Class : Antihypertensive (Diuretic)
